Our Story

EarthForm Studio Interior

From a Garage to a Community

EarthForm Pottery Studio was born in a two-car garage in Southeast Portland in 2018. Founder Elena Vasquez — a ceramic artist with 15 years of experience — started with one wheel, a small kiln, and a belief that everyone deserves access to the transformative power of working with clay.

Word spread. What began as weekend classes for friends grew into a waiting list. In 2020, we moved into our current 3,200-square-foot studio in the Pearl District, adding wheels, kilns, a glaze kitchen, and gallery space.

Today, EarthForm serves over 500 students and members each year — from six-year-olds making their first pinch pot to seasoned potters throwing 50-piece dinnerware sets. We've produced custom ceramic work for restaurants, hotels, and collectors across the Pacific Northwest. But our proudest achievement is the community that's grown up around the clay.
